We had a stall at Bowerbird Bazaar, last weekend in Adelaide.

Very busy and lots of fun.

There was great design, yummy food and a everyone who visited us were so nice.

spring : summer in store and online

our new spring : summer range has finally arrived in your favourite stores and online.
Fresh colours to brighten up those warm summer days ahead. Citrus and smoke, team up with navy and green and of course some red. New styles in skirts and dresses plus some of our classics.

Winter in store and online

Finally the winter range is here (well most of it), so check out our new skirts, tees and our very wearable denim dress.
Essaye by Surface Art, Autumn and Winter range brings splashes of burnt orange, smokey greys, rich greens with touches of teal, red, black and white.
The bold print “Leaf” evokes feelings of the fifties and “Vine” captures the organic look of Art Nouveau, both perfect for the coming seasons.
We have our classic drill aline in both lengths and now have introduced a “new” aline in cotton/lycra for a different feel.
Our denim panel skirt now comes in 2 lengths as well this season, so team the short version with tights and boots, add a long sleeved printed tee with our new lower neckline or new aline jersey top for the perfect winter look.
If you like dresses, all our dresses are great for an easy to wear style, choose from the jersey tunic, maria dress in a knitted wool mix or fun denim dress

One Small Room, which is a fantastic shop at 6 -10 Queen Street, Croydon , South Australia is filled with an "eclectic mix of old and new - furniture (midcentury modern, vintage - old or new), homewares, rugs, stationery, toys, jewellery, clothing and more...".
Using our upholstery weight canvas in the new "sand/leaf - Japanese Floral" for the seat of this fabulous oak bench. Nice choice I think!

We had a photo shoot last week for some new home ware prints that we are doing in heavier weight canvas that is suitable for both upholstery and cushions, and Jack decided to get involved!

What a year!
Moved studios and opened the studio shop and the rest!
I want to thank everyone involved with "surface art" for their help and support and to all the lovely people we have met and dealt with over the year.
I am taking a break over from 24th December and until the end of January, so sorry if you were planning to visit us over the holidays.

Summer is here!

At last we are about to launch summer on the web.
We have our favorite basics .......short sleeve tees, tunics and our aline skirts, but for this summer we are offering the aline in 2 lengths, long ( usual length) and short .....sits just on the knee.
We got inspired by wraps, so we now have light weight denim wrap, voile wrap skirts and dresses.
Colours for the "surface art" summer season are wedgewood blue, orange, classic smoke and red with chocolate and lots of green. Hope you love it.

We are going down to try it out and support Rebekah and Jane who have organised it all.

We are delighted to be taking part in the stitches and craft show in Sydney 19th - 23rd August at Rosehill and is open to the public.
We are going to be sharing a space with the lovely Rebekah from " Sprout Design" who produce the most gorgeous prints and products for kids.
